Thank you for joining me again!
If you are new to my blog I suggest reading my last post. It’s only a four minute read and gives you a little of an insight of where this post starts
So as you remember I have started this website and blog to attract new clients. To make it easier to show what services The Hive Works offers. I also want to use it to help people to elevate their homes on their own! If someone is willing to try but aren’t sure if they have all the information they need, this will be the place to come. Of course there are a million other places people go to for help, but perhaps some of you will find my spin on things helpful.
But first I need people to read what I am writing. So I need to get my site and Blog visible to the bots at Google. I am pretty sure they aren’t actual mini robots in some mega computer, but who knows? What I have learned is these bots scan or crawl a website and gather information on what each page is about. They then tell the “Brain” of Google that a certain webpage belongs in a certain category or perhaps multiple categories.
When you type something into Google search you are actually asking the “Brain” show me this information, and bamm, with in milliseconds the “brain” displays what it has stored in that category. This is my Cole’s notes on it, however here is a link that is far better at explaining it than me.
So I need to design my website in a way that both attracts those bots but also helps them to categorize my site properly! From what I have learned, keywords are the top priority to get your website noticed. I want people who are searching for a handyman, to find my website. So the keyword “handyman” must show up in most of my website to get the most attention from the bots.
This however is not so easy. Unless I would be ok with my website sounding AI generated. I’m sure you have come across websites, ads or even descriptions on YouTube. You know the ones that have the same word in every sentence! If I didn’t care how readable my website is I could just pepper in handyman in every paragraph. I mean it is a handyman page, I am a handyman. Being a professional handyman is something I love doing, so I should be proud to remind people I am a handyman.
I don’t know about you but those two sentences were both tough to write but also tough to read. Being repetitive is irritating to me and I don’t like reading the same information over again. So I am having a hard time to get my keywords in, cheated a little bit in that last paragraph, or was it creative?
I tried to build a website that is user friendly and packed with information but hopefully not overwhelming. As I learn more and more about SEO I hope my websites performance improves.
If you enjoyed this blog or didn’t let me know. No matter who you are or how you feel about the information I shared. I would love to hear from you.
That’s it for this post. Next time I will continue with my experience with Google Ads.
Last thing, I figured out how to add a subscription button to my blog. Give it a try and let me know what you think.
Read you later!
